National secretary of the BJP Anil Antony will be among the campaigners of the party for the Assembly by-election in Gambegre slated for November 13.
Besides Antony, the other campaigners include State BJP president Rikman Momin, cabinet minister Alexander L. Hek, party MLA Sanbor Shullai, party functionaries David Kharsati, Sukhi Pariat, Anzie Sangma and Sewina Marak.
It may be mentioned that the cenrral leadership of the BJP yesterday announced the name of sitting Tura MDC and State party vice president Bernard N. Marak as the candidate for the by-poll.
Marak who is the lone applicant for the party ticket will file his nomination papers tomorrow.
Today, Trinamool Congress candidate Sadhiarani Sangma filed her nomination for the election.
Congress has fielded Jingjang M. Marak, who is a close aide of Tura MP Saleng Sangma who vacated the seat. NPP has fielded Chief Minister Conrad Sangma’s wife Mehtab Chandee.
The last date for filing nominations is October 25. Scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on October 28. The date for withdrawal of nominations is October 30. The election will be held on November 13 and results will be declared on November 23.
