Faith Foundation and Chief Minister’s Youth Centre along with India Ultimate celebrated National Sports Day today with a friendly ultimate frisbee match at Umktieh village in Ri Bhoi district.
A total of 47 talented women and girl players from both organisations showcased their skills and camaraderie on the field.
Ri Bhoi District Sports Association President, R Briswell Shadap attended the event as the chief guest. Speaking before the match, Shadap talked about the necessity of having such social organisations like the Faith Foundation and Sauramandala Foundation (who had partnered in this special event) in the State.
He also thanked the organising team for introducing the sport to the areas in Ri Bhoi, stating that the sport, although new to him and to countless others present in the venue, would hopefully go on to help in the development of the physical and mental well being of the youths in the area.
The friendly frisbee match also highlighted the organisations’ shared commitment to inclusivity and women’s and girl’s participation in sports.
As the final score was declared, both teams congratulated each other on a fantastic game and exchanged tokens of appreciation. The match concluded with a sense of accomplishment and a shared vision of continued partnership and progress.
