A blast occurred in the premises of the Star Cement Company in Lumshnong, East Jaiñtia Hills district on Saturday night.
Sources said the blast occurred at around 9 pm near the staff quarter of the company.
To verify the cause of the blast, calls were made to police officials but with no response. No one has been able to confirm what the blast was but staff said that following the blast, a smell of gun powder filled the air.
Police have rushed to the site and till filing of this report, details are awaited.
