Shillong, Feb 16: The former Seng Samla Dum Dum organised its maiden charity programme at the Community Hall in Lumiablot, at Upper Nongthymmai where cash donations were extended to needy households of the locality.
The event underscored the organisation’s commitment to bridging societal gaps and fostering resource development among its members.
Treasurer Jerry Kharsyntiew emphasised the rich history of the Seng Samla, highlighting its longstanding accountability and swift response in uplifting the community through various ongoing projects.
The programme featured a musical performance by noted actor and former Dum Dum member Merlvin Mukhim, with additional contributions from Secretary Pynshngainlang Reenborne and Publicity Secretary Christopher Laurence Gatphoh, both of former members of the Seng Samla Dum Dum.
During the occasion, Rangbah Shnong shared his thoughts on the significance of collective action and community solidarity.
The event was chaired by President Gilbert Shanpru, in the presence of members from Seng Longkmie, executive members of Lumiablot Pyllun, and other distinguished guests.
