Former Chief Executive Member of KHADC, Teinwell Dkhar passed away today after a prolonged illness.
Dkhar who is the current MDC from Shella constituency had won his first election to the KHADC in 2004 from Shella constituency. He has never lost any election till his last breath.
His funeral will be held on June 28 at Mawlong which is his hometown.
In the last 20 years, Dkhar had held almost all important positions in the KHADC. He was elected as Chief Executive Member on March 7, 2019 and held the post till November 20, 2019.
He also held the post of Chairman of KHADC and also as leader of opposition.
Recently, Dkhar had stated that he would retire from politics due to his health issues.
Known as a close confidant of former chief minister late Dr. Donkupar Roy, Dkhar had served as a teacher of an upper primary school at Saitsnad near Mawkyrwat before joining politics.
He has remained with the UDP since he was elected in 2004 and has never shifted his political allegiance in his two decades of political career.
