      East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police, Rituraj Ravi has been transferred and posted as Commandant, 6th MLP Bn, Umran and Sylvester Nongtnger will return in his place.

      The transfer comes four days after Ravi was summoned by the Meghalaya Human Rights Commission (MHRC) to appear before it in person on June 20 following an incident in Shillong at the site of the hunger strike of Bindas Syiem.

      Syiem had been on hunger strike in protest over a dilapidated road.  On the night of June 9, Ravi had gone to the site of the protest at the parking lot near the Secretariat with the ostensible intention of taking Syiem for a medical examination given her lack of food. This was resolutely opposed by her supporters.

      The Meghalaya government has also ordered transfers and posting of other senior police officers.

      According to an order issued by the Home (Police) Department today, West Garo Hills SP, Dara Aswaghosh has been transferred and posted as Superintendent of Police (City) in place of Pankaj Kumar Rasgania who will now be posted as Superintendent of Police (Sadar), Shillong.

      SP CID, Shillong Dr Raghavendra Kumar M.G will take charge as Superintendent of Police (Traffic), Shillong.

      Vivek Syiem, the Superintendent of Police, CID, Shillong is transferred and posted as Assistant Inspector General of Police (L&0) and Ringrang T G. Momin, Superintendent of Police, F&ES, Tura, will take his place.

      Mukesh Kumar Singh, Inspector General of Police (L&0), Shillong has been transferred and posted as Inspector General of Police-Commandant General, Civil Defence & Home Guards, Shillong against the existing vacancy.

      Jerry F.K Marak, Inspector General of Prisons, Shillong is transferred and posted as Commandant, 2nd MLP Bn, Goeragre, West Garo Hills, Tura in place of Bashanborlang J. Laloo who will has been transferred and posted as Commandant, SF-10, Shillong.

      Herbert G. Lyngdoh, Superintendent of Police, Anti-Infiltration Directorate, Shillong has been transferred and posted as Commandant, 1st MLP Bn, Mawiong and will be replaced by Mary G.T. Sangma, Principal, Police Training School, Umran.

      Lakador Syiem, Commandant, 4th MLP Bn, Sohpian has been transferred and posted as Principal, Police Training School,

      Pawar Swapnil Vasantrao, Commandant, 1st MLP Bn, Mawiong has been transferred and posted as Superintendent of Police, North Garo Hills District, Resubelpara.

      Abraham T. Sangma, Superintendent of Police, North Garo Hills has been transferred and posted as Superintendent of Police, West Garo Hills.

      Bruno A Sangma, MPS, Commandant, SF-10, Shillong has been transferred and posted as Superintendent of Police, F&ES, Tura while Rupam R. Marak, Superintendent of Police(Security), Shillong is transferred and posted as Commandant, 4th MLP Bn, Sohpian.

      N.Subhash Singh, Assistant Inspector General of Police(L&0), Shillong is transferred and posted as Superintendent of Police(R/PR), Shillong against the existing vacancy.

      Losterwell Nongpluh, Superintendent of Police, SB-II, Shillong has been transferred and posted as Superintendent of Police (Security), while Feroz Rehaman, Deputy Commandant, 5th MLP Bn, Samanda, East Garo Hills District  is allowed to hold charge posting and has been transferred and posted as Superintendent of Police (Traffic), Tura against the existing vacancy.

      Torid D. Sangma, Additional Superintendent of Police, South West Garo Hills, Ampati has been allowed to hold charge posting and transferred and posted as Assistant Inspector General of Police(E), Shillong against the existing vacancy.

      Marlon S H. Nonghuloo, Deputy Commandant, 3rd MLP Bn, Khliehtyrshi has been transferred and posted as Superintendent of Police, SB-II, Shillong and Stanislaus A. Marak, Additional  Superintendent of Police, Resubelpara is allowed to hold charge posting and transferred and posted as Superintendent of Police (Eastern Range).
