The Khliehriat circle of the East Jaiñtia National Council (EJNC) met the new Deputy Commissioner of the district, Abhilash Barnawal, to discuss matters important to the pressure group.
The topics discussed ranged from the condition of National Highway 6, other roads, schemes of the government to do with agriculture, horticulture and health.
The EJNC also raised the matter of supporting the youth through schemes through a society set up along the lines of the Meghalaya Basin Development Authority.
