The All Commercial Vehicle Association of East Garo Hills has informed the District Magistrate that it has decided to withdraw its one day strike called in favour of the demand for Tura to be named the winter capital of the state.
The strike was meant to be held on Wednesday. However, as Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma “has expressed a positive response” to the demand, the association has decided to scrap the strike.
