Director General of Police R Chandranathan today inaugurated a specialised Crime Branch police station in Shillong, which will serve the six districts in Meghalaya’s eastern range.
The station, located near the Shillong Bar Association office, will “deal extensively with investigation of criminal cases”, a press release stated today.
It will function under the authority of the Inspector General of Police (Eastern Range). As it happens, this is the 75th police station in the State.
Other senior police officers present at the function were Additional Director General of Police Idashisha Nongrang, Additional Director General of Police Heimonlang Nongpluh and Inspector General of Police Manbha Kupar Dkhar.
