The e-Challan Digital Traffic Enforcement Solution was officially launched today by Home Minister Lahkmen Rymbui in the presence of Director General of Police R Chandranathan, officials of the National Information Centre (NIC), State Bank of India and senior officials of the police department.
The e-Challan system will be initially implemented within the jurisdiction of the Shillong Traffic Police (STP) and in the near future, other districts will also be covered under this project.
Meghalaya Police requested the general public to cooperate with the traffic police who will be utilizing handheld point of sale devices for traffic compounding and generating digital challans.
