Shillong, Jul 18: Two drivers sustained injuries after a local taxi collided with a tourist vehicle ahead of the Umiam Dam bridge on Saturday morning.
According to preliminary reports, the accident occurred shortly after both vehicles crossed the bridge. The collision was captured on a dashcam from a vehicle travelling behind.
The footage shows local taxi ML 06 7685, travelling towards Ri Bhoi, colliding with tourist vehicle ML 05 AE 9222. Both vehicles suffered extensive damage.
Police reached the spot soon after and have initiated legal proceedings. The exact cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained and an investigation is underway.
