Shillong, Sep 11: The state cabinet today approved the recommendation of Donald P Wahlang as the new Chairperson of the Meghalaya State Food Commission.
Wahlang is set to retire as the head of the Meghalaya Civil Service on September 30. He will then take up his new assignment.
Meanwhile, the cabinet also approved Dr Mihshwa Tyngkan as a member of the commission.
Wahlang is a 1993 batch IAS officer and took over as Chief Secretary on August 1, 2022, succeeding Rebecca V Suchiang.
Additional Chief Secretary Shakil P Ahammed is likely to succeed Wahlang as the next Chief Secretary.
