Members of the Achik Students’ Welfare Association (ASWA) today met Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma during his visit to Williamnagar, East Garo Hills, to submit a list of demands for the village of Dobu.
The village urgently requires a State Bank of India branch, the upgrade of the Dobu operations group centre into a police outpost, improvements to the Dobu Rimding Deficit Upper Primary School, the upgrade of the local Public Health Centre to Community Health Centre and the appointment of veterinary staff nurses.
“These are demands that are absolutely essential to the development of the Dobu area. We hope these requirements are taken up on a priority basis,” ASWA said.
