A two-day district level industrial exhibition began in Khliehriat today organised by the General Manager, District Commerce & Industries Centre (DCIC), East Jaintia Hills.
The objective of the exhibition is to provide an opportunity to local entrepreneurs to showcase their talents and serves as a platform to enable local entrepreneurs to sell their products.
General Manager, H.N Kharpuri said that the exhibition also acts as a forum for mutual exchange of knowledge, ideas and experiences.
Deputy Commissioner, Abhilash Baranwal attended the exhibition as the chief guest. He expressed satisfaction in seeing citizens of the district coming forward to become entrepreneurs and urged them to give more thrust and effort in their endeavours in order to enable them to create products which will put stiff competition to products made by entrepreneurs from the other parts of the state.
He also stated that the government is committed to provide assistance to promote local entrepreneurs and encouraged them to make use of the support system made available to enhance the quality of their products.
Among others who spoke during the programme include Functional Managers, DCIC, G. Pala and P. Suja and beneficiary under PMEGP, D. Tlang.
Altogether 30 stalls were put up at the exhibition.
