The Ri-Bhoi police held an awards ceremony here today to honour the commendable service of its officers and constables.
The state’s top officer, Director General of Police Idashisha Nongrang, distributed the awards that recognised the contribution of police to law and order in the district.
The ceremony was attended by Ri-Bhoi Superintendent of Police Jagpal Singh Dhanoa, Additional SP Banraplang Jyrwa and other senior officers, along with constables from the district.
In her address, Nongrang commended the dedication and hard work of the officers and lower ranks.
Special awards were also distributed to constables Alan Marbaniang and Wadalin Syiemiong from the 6th Battalion Umran for securing gold medals during the 73rd All India Police Wrestling Cluster 2024 held in Lucknow.
