Jowai, Nov 21: Deputy Chief Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar has said that 78 per cent of work for construction of the Iawmusiang market complex in Jowai is complete.
Dhar, accompanied by Health Minister and Jowai MLA Wailadmiki Shylla, today inspected the construction site and expressed satisfaction with the pace of work and said efforts are being made to complete the construction and operationalise the complex within a year.
He said the market complex will be under the lookout of the Jaiñtia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHDAC).
The Deputy Chief Minister also inspected the construction of the Mini Secretariat building. He said 90 per cent of the work is complete at the West Block.
On the construction of a Mini Secretariat in East Jaintia Hills, Dhar gave no assurance but said it will be examined after the West Jaintia Hills building completes.
Dha also inspected the construction of the Working Women’s Hostel near the DTO office.
Meanwhile, the Health Minister informed that construction of the Jowai Nursing College has been proposed at Mukhla village that has donated land for the project.
He said an agreement was entered recently between the village and the health department.
On the appointment of doctors at the Jowai Civil Hospital and MCH Hospital, Shylla informed that 34 have been recruited recently and the government intends to recruit about 150 doctors in the State.
