Shillong, Feb 22: A dead body was found in the forest area of Risa Colony today.
Speaking to Highland Post, Assistant Headman G Shullai said the area falls under the Forest Department’s jurisdiction. He stated that the deceased has not been identified by residents of Risa Colony, Wahdienglieng or Cleve Colony as of this evening.
He said some residents of Upper Risa Colony reported seeing him walking in the area, often in the evenings around 7pm, and believed him to be intoxicated. He appeared to be familiar with the local area but no further information is available about his identity or background.
