Residents of Darrang in West Jaintia Hills have decided to field a youth from the village to contest the upcoming elections to the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC).
The decision was taken at a meeting held in the village today which was attended by elders, women and youth wherein they unanimously chose Treiborlang Raul Suchen to contest the War West seat.
Elders who spoke during the meeting highlighted the community works of Suchen. They said the youth has contributed towards the society in various ways and earned the trust of the community.
