The 67th Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) celebrated National Unity Day with enthusiasm and patriotic fervour here today.
This day is dedicated to the birth anniversary of independence icon, Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Vallabhbhai Patel. In his honour, a series of events and activities aimed at promoting unity and the spirit of oneness among the personnel was held.
The day commenced with a flag hoisting ceremony at the 67th Battalion headquarters, where Commandant Alok Bhattacharya led the proceedings. He highlighted the significance of National Unity Day and paid tribute to Patel’s tireless efforts in unifying the diverse princely states into one nation.
In his address, Commandant Bhattacharya emphasised the pivotal role the CRPF plays in upholding national integrity. He praised the dedication of the personnel in safeguarding the nation’s borders and maintaining law and order. He also urged everyone to carry forward the spirit of unity as envisioned by Patel.
The battalion organised various activities, including a Unity Run, where personnel and their families ran together to symbolise the unity and integrity of the nation. This event was marked by the participation of not only CRPF personnel but also local residents.
