Two persons were arrested near the international border in East Khasi Hills district, BSF said today.
The individuals were attempting to smuggle contraband items across the border.
The BSF said the duo was travelling in a Tata Sumo and were intercepted by a joint team of the BSF and Meghalaya police at Ichamati T-Junction.
They were both attested as the driver failed to provide an invoice or any valid documents for the consignment.
The loaded vehicle and the contraband, which the BSF have not listed the names, were handed to the customs office in Shella.
Meanwhile, three Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended by BSF from Baburambil Border Road, South Garo Hills on March 18.
They are identified as Md. Rakip Sk (40), Abdul Manik (22) and Masoom Sk (32).
