Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma continued his inauguration spree in Garo Hills today, this time in East Garo Hills district.
The CM had laid foundation stones and other launch events in North Garo Hills yesterday. All these photo opportunities happen to be coming in as close to March 8, when the Model Code of Conduct will come into force for April’s election to the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council.
Today Sangma inaugurated the higher secondary school block of Loyola Higher Secondary School in Williamnagar. His sister and Tura MP, Agatha Sangma, meanwhile, inaugurated the school’s new basketball court, which was sanctioned under the CM’s Special Development Fund.
At a separate function the Chief Minister also flagged-off the new school bus of St George School at Samanda.
Other events saw Sangma inaugurate the Nengmandalgre Public Health Centre in Williamnagar and laying the foundation for the construction of the Nengmandalgre to Daribokre (Mandalgre) Road and the construction of the Cherangre to Sisobibra (Nengmandalgre to Gitokgre) Road.
