The Congress has appointed three committees as part of preparations for the upcoming Assembly elections in Meghalaya.
Informing this, State Congress president Vincent Pala said the All India Congress Committee (AICC) has constituted an election committee and a campaign committee for Meghalaya.
Pala was appointed the chairman of the election committee which also includes ten senior party leaders, mostly former MLAs.
Former State party president Celestine Lyngdoh was made chairman of the 15-member campaign committee.
The party has also constituted a research and monitoring committee with senior party leader Pynshngain N. Syiem as its chairman.
The committee includes former MLAs and young members of the party.
