With the easing of the Covid-19 situation in the state, the Education Department today announced that all higher educational institutions in Meghalaya will reopen on February 1 in a “blended” mode that combines both online and offline teaching.
In a notification, Deputy Chief Secretary DP Wahlang said that the decision was taken in consultation with college principals and all Covid protocols must still be observed by the colleges.
The academic calendar for all classes will follow that as prepared and circulated by North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU). Guidelines for hostels will be issued separately.
In-person attendance of students “must not be enforced and must depend entirely on parental consent”, the notification added.
