Shillong, Dec 8: Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma has stressed on the need to protect water sources of different PHE schemes while development works are being carried out by different departments and ministries.
Chairing a review meeting of schemes implemented by the PHE Electrical Sub-Division, Rymbai, the Chief Minister instructed the officials to ensure Functional Household Tap Connections (FHTCs) to all anganwadi centres and schools.
He also stressed on the need of having greater community participation through awareness campaigns and engagement with the communities for the success of various schemes of PHE.
The meeting discussed coverage of FHTC and Rymbai Greater Water Supply Scheme.
PHE officials highlighted challenges faced by the sub division and apprised the Chief Minister on the progress, completion and time frame for various schemes of the department in the region and the need of having PHE Division in East Jaintia Hills District for successful implementation and monitoring of schemes.
