The Village Defence Party (VDP) of Quinine Nongladew village in the Ri Bhoi District organized a road-cleaning initiative today along the NH6 highway, which runs through the village.
The event was led by President Lansius Syiemlieh and saw active participation from the local community, including village leaders, parents, and youth. Residents came together to clean the section of NH6 that falls under the jurisdiction of Quinine Nongladew, bringing various cleaning tools from their homes to contribute to the collective effort.
In his speech during the event, Syiemlieh expressed gratitude to the villagers for their enthusiastic participation. He emphasised the importance of cleanliness in all aspects of life, including homes, villages, and public spaces.
He encouraged everyone to avoid littering and to be mindful of responsible waste disposal, particularly regarding plastic and other harmful materials.
The cleanup event showcased the community’s commitment to maintaining a clean and healthy environment for all residents.
