The Swachh Bharat Mission in Ri Bhoi today held a meeting and clean drive at Umtrynga village to generate awareness on cleanliness among the community.
Block Coordinator of the Swachh Bharat Mission for Umling C&RD Block, Bankyrshan Marwein, who chaired the meeting, said that the village located along the border with Assam serves as a model for other border villages to promote hygiene and sanitation.
The meeting was attended by local residents, including Migaland Marbaniang, the headman of Umtyrnga, as well as officials from the Swachh Bharat Mission.
It may be mentioned that the cleanliness month in Ri Bhoi district commenced on September 17 and will run until October 2.
