In a major reshuffle in the party, the Congress high command today appointed Dr. A Chellakumar as the new general secretary incharge of Meghalaya.
Dr. Chellakumar replaces Manish Chatrath who has served as Congress general secretary incharge of Meghalaya for few years.
Besides Meghalaya, Dr. Chellakumar was also given charge of Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh.
Senior Congress leader Jitendra Singh has been made general secretary incharge of Assam.
Girish Chodankar has been appointed as general secretary incharge of Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura and Sikkim.
