Union Minister of State for Law Prof. S. P Singh Baghel has informed that Rs 8 crore will be sanctioned by the centre for Ri Bhoi district for development of education and health sectors.
Baghel who visited Nongpoh today told reporters that he was satisfied with the implementation of various projects and lauded the district, which was ranked fifth amongst the 112 aspirational districts in the country.
He informed that Rs 12 crores was spent only for Ri Bhoi under Niti Ayog.
He further highlighted the importance of the aspirational district programme as it aims for the speedy growth and for the transformation of the district in term of developmental works.
Earlier, Baghel reviewe the developmental works being implemented in the district at a special meeting with the officers from the line department of Ri Bhoi at the Conference Hall of Deputy Commissioner Office, Nongpoh.
Baghel interacted with the officers on their performances with regards to developmental works.
Deputy commissioner, Arpit Upadhyaya and Ri Bhoi SP, Giri Prasad, additional deputy commissioner, M.B Tongper were present at the meeting.
During his visit, Baghel also inspected some of the developmental activities in two village of Ri Bhoi which include Health and Wellness Centre at Umsawnongkharai and Aganwadi Centre at Saiden and interacted with various SHGs there.
