Editor,
Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper, I wish to share a few thoughts on the auspicious festival of Dussehra and how we can make our celebrations more meaningful today.
Dussehra signifies the eternal victory of good over evil. It reminds us of Lord Rama’s triumph over Ravana, teaching us to conquer vices such as hatred, anger, and dishonesty within ourselves. However, in recent years, our celebrations have increasingly involved excessive noise and air pollution through massive firecrackers and huge, resource-heavy effigies.
We must remember that true righteousness also means protecting our environment and caring for our community. I urge citizens to celebrate responsibly—opting for eco-friendly effigies, keeping noise levels in check, and focusing on the core moral values of kindness and unity that the festival stands for.
