Shillong, Apr 7: An applicant has formally lodged a complaint against the selection process for the Lower Divisional Assistant (LDA) position in South Garo Hills district and proposed an “open challenge” in computer skills and typing test.
Johnprizebirth M. Sangma, a hopeful for the position, believed the declared result was unjust and has urged the Deputy Commissioner, who chairs the district selection committee, to intervene.
In his complaint, Sangma called for fairness in public employment as guaranteed by Article 16 of the Constitution of India. He asserted that every candidate deserves an equitable evaluation based on their merit. He demanded for a halt to the issuance of appointment letters until a comprehensive assessment of computer skills is performed.
The applicant has suggested a transparent solution, proposing a public challenge to confirm competency among candidates.
Sangma’s challenge involves a computer skills and typing test scheduled for April 8, overseen by the district selection committee members to ensure transparency.
“Any candidate who is defeated by me in this test may be considered for elimination from the final result for the post of LDA. Conversely, if I am defeated by all the candidates, I am willing to accept any action deemed appropriate by the authority,” he said in the letter.
He said this is a challenge in the interest of maintaining transparency in the selection process.
