The new cabinet which will be led by Chief Minister designate Conrad Sangma will see five former ministers in the MDA-1 returning to the coveted position while six will be new faces.
Prestone Tynsong, Sniawbhalang Dhar, Alexander L. Hek, Comingone Ymbon and Kyrmen Shylla are set for a comeback as ministers.
The new entrants into the cabinet are Ampareen Lyngdoh, Paul Lyngdoh, Abu Taher Mondal, Marcuise N. Marak, Rakkam A. Sangma and Shakliar Warjri.
Of these new faces, Ampareen and Paul Lyngdoh have been ministers in past governments. Mondal was a former Speaker of the Assembly from 2013 to 2018.
Sources said that Warjri who is an MLA of the HSPDP was selected as he was also a close relative of NPP MDC from Mawsynram, Alvin Khyriem Sawkmie and NPP MDC from Umsning, Macdalyn Mawlong.
