Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma today said the state government is preparing to table the report on Meghalaya’s reservation policy during the forthcoming budget session of the Assembly, tentatively scheduled from February 16 to 27.
Addressing reporters after presiding over a cabinet meeting, Sangma said the cabinet had deliberated on various aspects of the expert committee’s report and agreed that the budget session would be the appropriate forum to present it.
“In line with the proposed dates for the budget session, the cabinet felt it would be most suitable to place the expert committee’s report before the Assembly during that session,” the CM said.
He added that the government has forwarded the proposed dates of February 16 to 27 to the Governor and is awaiting formal approval.
