The Border Security Force (BSF) jawans under the Border Outpost of Nilwagre under South Garo Hills district yesterday seized a huge quantity of clothes that were kept near the border near Bangladesh and meant to be sent over.
As per a press report of the 55 BN BSF, the value of the consignment was over Rs 12 lakhs and was handed over to the customs team after the seizure.
“These were meant to be smuggled across to Bangladesh but our alert personnel managed to find and seize them,” said the release.
No persons were apprehended during the seizure as the clothes were left unattended close to the international border.
