The 28th Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF) Meghalaya organised a civic action programme and free medical camp today in Mahendraganj, South West Garo Hills.
During the programme, the BSF provided free medical check-ups, distributed medicines, sports items, agricultural tools, water storage tanks and stationery to students, youths, farmers and other villagers.
Approximately 500 people from villages in the area attended the programme, which was held to strengthen the bond between the BSF and local people.
SWGH Deputy Commissioner Gideon Kharmawphlang also attended the programme with BSF officials.
