The Fit India Movement run organised by the Border Security Force (BSF) was flagged off from Umpling campus here on Saturday.
BSF jawans and their families participated in the five kilometer run which was organised on the occasion of one year anniversary of the movement under the motto “Running: The human body’s most raw form of Freedom”, to encourage fitness and help all to get freedom from obesity, laziness, stress, anxiety, diseases etc.
BSF DIG UK Nayal said in Covid times, fitness has become an even more important aspect of life and emphasised on a balanced nutrition, mental wellness and various other aspects of fitness.
“The basic tenet on which the Fit India Movement was envisaged is to imbibe fun, easy and non-expensive ways of keeping fit and therefore bring about a behavioural change in every Indian’s life,” Nayal said.
