The Bangladesh government’s decision to set up 4,407 cattle markets and an online marketplace for buying and selling cattle ahead of Eid-ul-Azha, has put the Border Security Force on a high alert.
The neighbouring country is set to inaugurate the Digital Haat 2022 on Sunday to make cattle trading easier for both the sellers and the customers.
BSF officials said there is an increasing cattle demand in Bangladesh for sacrifices on Eid and with the opening of the cattle markets, the neighbouring country will facilitate more and more cattle business.
Informing that over 400 cattle were seized by the BSF from different locations along the international border in Meghalaya during the month of May, official said, “BSF is maintaining high degree of alertness on the international border to maintain national security as well as to prevent all kind of trans-border crimes and illegal activities.”
