In a continued effort to curb illegal infiltration and trans-border crimes along the Indo-Bangladesh border, troops of 172 Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF) Meghalaya apprehended three Bangladeshi nationals yesterday in East Jaintia Hills.
Acting on specific intelligence, alert BSF personnel noticed suspicious movement near the border and intercepted the individuals attempting to infiltrate into Indian territory.
Preliminary questioning revealed that the apprehended Bangladeshi nationals are residents of Sylhet in Bangladesh. The three were handed over to Umkiang police for further legal proceedings.
