The Border Security Force (BSF) Meghalaya observed International Women’s Day at its Shillong headquarters today.
The event was organised under the aegis of BSF Wives’ Welfare Association (BWWA) to promote the sense of justice, dignity and equality of women, a press release stated today.
The celebration was marked by various activities conducted by the BWWA, such as cultural programmes, games, quiz competition, etc and celebrated the vital roles that women play in society and their achievements.
The BWWA Meghalaya president addressed the gathering, motivating the women present to embrace responsibility in all aspects of life, especially considering their husbands’ deployment in remote border areas. She stated that today, women are leading in every field alongside men. Furthermore, each woman has unique talents, and they should showcase their abilities as BWWA provides a platform to display their talent. She further encouraged them to pursue various ventures confidently, fostering a sense of accomplishment and contributing to their prosperity.
