A reunion conference of 1973 batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officers was held on Wednesday here at Umpling, the headquarters of the Border Security Force Meghalaya Frontier, with officers and their spouses from across the country taking part.
One of the officers, RK Johri, said that the Covid-19 pandemic over the past two years forced comrades to keep in touch only through social media and WhatsApp but, through this reunion, the officers got to meet each other in a real way and in the beautiful setting of Shillong.
Many of those who attended had never been to Meghalaya before but had heard or seen of its beauty through photos and videos. Now, however, they got a chance to see the state with their own eyes and it has been an enjoyable experience, he added.
