The 193 battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF) Meghalaya today successfully intercepted two vehicles loaded with sugar meant to be smuggled into Bangladesh.
Four Indian nationals were arrested in the incident, which took place near the international border under East Khasi Hills.
The BSF was acting on specific information when it launched the operation whereby it identified and intercepted the vehicles bearing registration numbers ML 12 3843 and ML 05 AD 3614 loaded with sugar worth Rs 10 lakh.
The seized items and apprehended persons were handed over to the customs office, Dangar for further legal action, a BSF press release informed.
