The Border Security Force (BSF) in a joint operation with police seized 69 cattle before smugglers could transport it over the international border into Bangladesh.
Six Indian smugglers were arrested in the incident, which took place in Dalu under West Garo Hills district today.
According to the BSF, the cattle were brutally loaded in four Bolero pick-up vehicles.
The seized items and apprehended persons were handed over to the police station in Dalu for further legal action, a BSF press release informed.
The BSF Meghalaya stated that it continues to remain vigilant and dedicated to its mission of protecting the borders and preventing smuggling activities.
“This successful operation is a testament to the effectiveness of the joint efforts between the BSF and local law enforcement agencies,” the BSF added.
