The Border Security Force (BSF) in collaboration with the Marwadi Samaj Sanstha today distributed various essential items to flood affected people of South Garo Hills and East Khasi Hills districts.
The recent downpour in the state has affected the supply of essential items in the inundated border area.
Clothing and food items were given to villagers of Bardup, Jangalpara in East Khasi Hills and Bandrabasti in South Garo Hills district.
The BSF in a statement has expressed its appreciation to the Marwadi Samaj Shillong and said besides securing the borders the force also covers all the aspects having bearing on livelihood of the border population.
