The Director General of the Border Security Force (BSF), Nitin Agrawal, is on a visit to the Meghalaya Frontier BSF, which began today and will conclude tomorrow.
The purpose of the high profile visit is to review the current security scenario and operational preparedness on the Indo-Bangladesh border.
Today, Agrawal was welcomed by BSF Inspector General Pradip Kumar and other senior officers at the BSF campus in Umpling. The DG was briefed about the general security scenario and operational preparedness on the Indo-Bangladesh border in Meghalaya.
He was also briefed about the challenges along the Indo-Bangladesh border and measures taken to counter them.
Agrawal interacted with field commanders and applauded the dedication of BSF personnel in safeguarding the borders and their efforts to control crime along the international border. During the visit, the DG also inaugurated the Officers’ Institute at the BSF Frontier HQ.
