A two-day book fair fest began today at the auditorium of Shillong College in Laitumkhrah which was attended by major book sellers and the publishers, students and faculty members of three colleges.
The fest is being organised by the Central Library & IQAC of Shillong College in collaboration with Shillong Commerce College and College of Teacher Education (PGT) Shillong.
Principal of Shillong Commerce College, S. Sen in her address spoke on the significance and importance of book reading and encourage students to read books.
IQAC Coordinator of College of Teacher Education (PGT) B. Tron applauded the cluster colleges for organising the book fair and highlighted the advantages of book reading for both students and teachers. She also stressed on the importance of copyright and urged students and teachers to always acknowledge the work of the original creator of any material in order to contribute towards fostering academic creativity.
Principal of Shillong College, E. Kharkongor congratulated the library team of the cluster colleges and encouraged students to read book in order to enhance their knowledge of the subject matter.
