The Meghalaya BJP today announced that it will list out result oriented action-plans to implement in the State within 100 days once the party assumes power in 2023.
State BJP president, Ernest Mawrie said that the party promises to give the “gift of development” to Meghalaya in the next five years and that they are preparing a 100 days priority programme listing the action plans.
“The party promises to have quantifiable deliverables against which the people of the State would be able to accurately measure the party’s performance,” he said in a statement here.
Mawrie said that for the last 50 years, the people of the State have placed their hopes on different successive governments to help them realise their dreams but they have been time and again lured by the sweet talking once-in-five-years politicians who have dotted the political landscape of Meghalaya forever.
“However, the people are now more aware than ever. The people can see right through the falsehoods that are generously peddled in the run up to the Assembly elections. The people today judge a party by their performance and not by their manifestos alone. And the people have seen that the BJP is a party that delivers,” he stated.
Mawrie said that the BJP governments at the Centre and in the various states of the country have all delivered development in their respective jurisdictions even as neighbouring Assam is growing by leaps and bounds under the BJP. “The people now trust our Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and the BJP,” he added.
Further, he said development seen in Meghalaya in the last five years has been because of Central Government schemes only, irrespective of whether the State government tried to appropriate the schemes by changing their names or not.
Mawrie said the people of the State are very angry because of rampant corruption and realised that corruption is eating into their share of growth and development. They are also angry at the politicians for building their own palaces at the cost of the public’s humble homes, he said.
“The BJP is the only party with a spotless track record against corruption. It is because of this that other political parties cannot find anything against the BJP, that they resort to their false religion based propagandas against the party,” the BJP president stated even as he was sounding confident when he said, “The people will call out their bluff,”
He reiterated that the people will vote for five years of development and not for Rs 5000.
