The state government is on the verge of starting several projects that it hopes will decongest Shillong and create other amenities that will lift the overall quality of life in Meghalaya’s towns and cities.
These include the provision of safe drinking water, a skywalk in Shillong and creation of leisure parks in different parts of the state.
“We had a very extensive presentation by the Urban Affairs Department on certain plans and programmes that will be taken into consideration and put into the pipeline to improve mobility in the cities across the state of Meghalaya,” cabinet minister and government spokesperson Ampareen Lyngdoh said after a cabinet meeting today.
A second meeting will be held where final details of the plan will be presented to the ministers.
