In imploring bank authorities of the Chokpot region of South Garo Hills, the A’chik Youth Welfare Organization (AYWO) has sought for the installation of ATMs by the State Bank of India and Meghalaya Rural Bank to ease the problems of the people of the region.
Members of the AYWO recently met the officials of the two banks and submitted a memorandum in this regard.
“We met the officials yesterday and implored them to set up the ATMs as this would go a long way to ease the problems being faced by the people of the area. People will not have to stand in long queues just to withdraw money, which can rather be done through the ATMs themselves,” said the regional unit President, Malseng Marak.
