Shillong, Mar 23: The Assam Rifles Commanders’ Conference was held at the Headquarters Directorate General Assam Rifles in Laitkor, here today under the chairmanship of Director General Lieutenant General Vikas Lakhera.
Formation Commanders, Battalion Commanders, and Staff Officers from the Directorate General Assam Rifles and various formations today deliberated on enhancing the operational capability and combat potential of the force.
Discussions included formulating a roadmap for the induction of next-generation weapons and equipment, sharing of best practices across formations, and strengthening training and skill development initiatives for personnel, a statement said.
Addressing the conference, the Director General commended all ranks of the force for their professional conduct and performance under challenging circumstances. He stressed the importance of maintaining security and sanctity of the Indo-Myanmar Border and Kashmir Valley.
“The force should be prepared for all contingencies and security challenges arising in the future,” he added.
The Director General further appreciated the efforts of Formation and Unit Commanders in maintaining peace and stability in their respective areas of responsibility and urged them to remain vigilant in view of the dynamic security environment.
During the event, the Assam Rifles Rajbhasha Shield Yojna was also presented, wherein 23 Assam Rifles secured the first position, 28 Assam Rifles secured the second position, and 34 Assam Rifles secured the third position for their exemplary implementation of Rajbhasha initiatives.
The conference concluded with a renewed commitment from all participants to uphold the highest standards of operational excellence and to continue striving for excellence in all domains.
