The Assam Rifles conducted the first ever Assam Rifles Ex-Servicemen Association (ARESA) conclave in Shillong today marking a significant milestone in strengthening the bond between the force and its esteemed veterans.
The conclave aims to enhance coordination, obtain feedback based on interaction, and enhance accountability and functionality of ARESA, with primacy of focus on welfare of AR ESM and their dependents.
The conclave was chaired by Director General Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera, who paid tribute to the contributions of ex-servicemen and highlighted the pivotal role played by Assam Rifles veterans in upholding the nation’s integrity and security.
In his keynote address, he emphasised the need for continued engagement and welfare initiatives for the retired fraternity.
Speaking at the event, the Director of ARESA, said “This conclave is a testament to our collective spirit and dedication. It’s heartening to see our veterans being recognized and supported in such a meaningful way.”
The conclave featured information dissemination to highlight information relevant for the environment, details of benefits/grants that are being disbursed and the agenda and discussion on the 2024-25 AGBM, measures to enhance outreach and connect with the AR ESM and dependents, challenges and measures to mitigate and others.
