The annual Joint Working Group meeting between the Assam Rifles and Indian Coast Guard was held at Directorate General Assam Rifles, Laitkor here yesterday.
This was the fifth meeting conducted to enhance inter force cooperation and integration.
The meeting was chaired by Director General Assam Rifles Lieutenant General PC Nair. Indian Coast Guard DIG Pankaj Verma, DIG Pramod Pokhriyal and Commandant Ranjan Biswas attended the meet.
The emphasis of the meeting was on greater understanding of operational ethos, building camaraderie, utilisation of each other’s assets for training, sports and adventure. The meeting also aimed at understanding the organisation and working ethos of each other and imbibe the good practices from each other for efficient completion of humanitarian missions undertaken by both Forces.
Assam Rifles and the Indian Coast Guard, the two premier border guarding forces of the nation were formally affiliated with each other on May 22, 2019.
